Royal Gatherings in The Hague: November 5 & 6, 2016



Dear Readers,

Many thanks for your continued enthusiasm and interest in all of Eurohistory's various endeavors!

After a conscientious search for lecturers, we have finally settled on the list of speakers for our upcoming ROYAL GATHERINGS IN THE HAGUE Conference (November 5 & 6, 2016).

This very talented and prolific group of royal authors and experts will include:


1. Marian Bette – "Arabella Stuart"

2. Klaus-Jorg Meyer Cabri – "Quest for a Czar"

3. Janet Ashton – "The Coronation of Nicholas II"

4. Susan Symons – "Schloß III"

5. Diana Mandache – "King Michael I of Romania" & "The 150 Anniversary of the Romanian Dynasty"

6. Katrina Warne – "Grand Duchess Elena Pavlovna's Residences"

7. Robert Golden – "The Earl of Athlone and His Descendants"

8. Arturo E. Beéche – "From Tyranny to Freedom: The Memoirs of Countess Viktoria-Luise
zu Solms-Baruth (former Princess Friedrich-Josias of Saxe-Coburg & Gotha)"


We may have a tenth lecture, but that is still under discussion and subject to scheduling.

The conference will be hosted at the Park Hotel (http://www.parkhoteldenhaag.nl), as usual and we will be offering a special room/breakfast. This reduced rate MUST be book through EUROHISTORY at: aebeeche@mac.com

Also, as usual, Annet Bakker of Hoogstraten English Bookstore, our supporting partner, will keep the shop open extended hours to accommodate everyone's needs!

Furthermore, on November 5 we will host a dinner at a local restaurant in an effort to build stronger bonds between conference participants.

Also, for those interested, we are organizing a group to visit the HERMITAGE MUSEUM in the afternoon of November 4, 2016. The museum will be hosting a phenomenal exhibition on Empress Catherine the Great. It promises to be one of their best exhibitions ever.

The Conference's price and further details will be announced later – as soon as contracts with the Park Hotel and restaurant are signed!
